How quill works
A coin's program is a stack of blocks. It runs on quill's keeper, its money sits in the coin's own vault on Solana, every money move is a real transaction, and the rules are fingerprinted at launch. Everything below is live: the diagrams run the same engine your coin will
Blocks
How a block works
Each block does one small thing, and blocks snap together top to bottom like a recipe. There is no code underneath to edit: the blocks are the program
Badge
The block's own icon on its category colour. Every block of a category wears the same colour
Words
What the block does, in plain English. Holders read the same words on the coin page
Inputs
The dark pills. Click one to change it: an amount, a list, a name, a wallet
Joint
A tab hangs under every block and a notch is cut into the top of the next. They only fit one way
Blocks
Three shapes
The shape says where a block can go. Pieces only fit where the rules allow, so a program that snaps together is a program that can run
Starter
A rounded hat. Every rule begins with one event, and nothing snaps on top of it
Action
Does one thing, then hands over to the block under it
Wrapper
Holds blocks in its mouth and runs them only when its check passes
Blocks
What happens on a run
A run starts when the event at the top of a rule happens. quill walks down the stack one block at a time; a wrapper checks its condition and runs its mouth or skips it; counters carry over to the next run. A run stops after 500 steps, or at the first failure, and the receipt says why. This one runs right here with pretend money

Categories
Every block belongs to one category; its colour and icon tell you which

Stocks a coin can trade: NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, SPY, MSFT, GOOGL (xStocks on Solana), at most three per coin, fixed at launch
Seals
Every set of rules strikes its own seal
A seal is a medallion struck from the rules alone, read like the rules themselves: a track per rule, a bead per block, a gauge per amount. Two coins with the same rules share a seal; change one number and it changes. Here a coin's rules grow one block at a time: watch the seal change with every block, and the name with it
Patient Seal
Seal 9444 · 1 rule · 1 block
- Tracks 1 track: one per rule
- Beads one per block, with its icon, in the order it runs from the top
- Gauges the line after a bead runs as far as the block spends
- Brackets a wrapper's bracket rides over the beads it holds
- Dots 4 around the heart: two per kind of action
- Heart the first rule's event
- Rule 1When creator fees arrive: nothing
Money
The coin's vault
Every coin gets its own vault wallet at launch, and the coin is created on pump.fun with that vault as its creator, so pump pays every creator fee to it. The vault's key is derived from quill's master seed and held only by the keeper, which signs only the moves the coin's published rules make
On the bonding curve, buys and sells go straight to pump.fun; after the coin graduates, and for stocks, they route through Jupiter
Money
How fees move
Nobody claims anything by hand. Every trade pays pump.fun's creator fee to the coin's vault; the keeper collects it about once a minute and fires the when creator fees arrive event, and the rules decide what the money does
Money
Limits
- A rule spends a share of what the vault holds at that moment, never more. 0.01 SOL always stays for network fees
- Swaps accept at most 3% slippage
- One airdrop pays at most 50 holders
- Timers run at most every 10 minutes; an event fires at most five runs per rule per keeper pass
- A run stops after 500 steps; a wait lasts 30 seconds at most
- At most six rules and forty blocks per coin, three stocks, all fixed at launch
Money
What it costs
- 0.02 SOL sent to the coin's vault at launch, for its token accounts
- quill keeps none of a coin's creator fees
- The keeper pays the network fee of every rule transaction
Money
The flywheel
Once the official coin is announced, each new coin hands 50% of its creator fees to the flywheel, and every launch pays a 0.02 SOL fee into it. The flywheel's wallet buys the official coin through Jupiter and burns everything it bought, every time it holds enough. The share is frozen into each coin when it launches and shown in the launch window; coins launched before the flywheel keep all of their fees

Receipts and fingerprints
Every run leaves a receipt on the coin page: what fired it, each step with the values it used, and a link to every transaction it sent. The launch writes the rules' fingerprint to Solana in a memo from the creator's wallet; with a first buy the coin transaction is full, so a second transaction signed at the same time carries it
The rules
“When fees arrive, buy Nvidia with half and airdrop the rest to holders”

The memo reads quill:v1: and this hash. Anyone can hash the rules shown on the coin page and compare: change one number and nothing matches
Launching
From blocks to a live coin
Your coin
Name, ticker, image (or the seal) and a line about it
The rules
Read them in plain words, with the limits and where fees go
Sign
One approval: the coin, its vault as creator, and the fingerprint
Checking
quill checks on Solana that the coin exists and its vault is the creator
Live
The page goes up; from the first trade, fees build up and rules run
In the builder nothing real moves. After launch, money blocks spend only what the coin's vault holds, inside the limits shown before you sign. You can put SOL into a first buy at launch and own part of the coin from the first second
Beyond money
AI and web blocks
AI blocks ask Claude for one short line for the feed, or a yes or no about the coin's numbers. They never move money by themselves: a yes only lets the blocks inside run. Without AI on the server they are skipped, and the receipt says so
Web blocks read prices and call webhooks. A webhook gets a JSON summary of the run (the event, each step, the transactions), only at a public https address, checked after it is looked up, with no redirects and a five second limit

Risks
- Memecoins are extremely risky. A coin's price can go to zero. Nothing here is financial advice
- The vault key is held by quill's keeper. A bug or a compromised server could misuse it
- Tokenized stocks track a share's price; they are not the share. The issuer can pause, freeze or take them back. Not for people in the US, UK, Canada or Australia
- Rules are locked: a rule that turns out badly cannot be stopped
FAQ
Questions
Can the creator take the fees?+
No. The fees land in the coin's vault and leave it only through the coin's own rules: a send to the creator's wallet is possible only if the rules say so, in the amount they say
Can the rules change after launch?+
No. There is no edit, for the creator or for quill. The fingerprint on the coin page is the sha256 of the rules as launched
What if quill's servers are down?+
The rules pause: nothing runs and nothing is spent. Fees keep building up for the vault, and the coin keeps trading on pump.fun, which never depended on quill
What if a level is crossed while the keeper is down?+
Market cap, price and holder rules fire when the keeper next sees the level crossed compared to its last reading; a move that went up and back down in between is missed
Who gets paid by an airdrop?+
Holders are read from Solana at run time, biggest first; the coin's own vault, the creator and pump's accounts are left out. One airdrop pays at most 50 wallets
Is the builder using real money?+
No. Run in the builder sends a pretend event with pretend money. Only a launched coin spends real fees
What is a seal?+
The tile a coin's rules draw. It follows from the rules alone, so two coins with the same rules share a seal and any change makes a new one. It can be the coin's image
What happens to AI blocks without AI?+
They are skipped and the receipt says so. Nothing is made up in their place and nothing else stops
Can a webhook reach quill's own servers?+
No. Only public https addresses on the normal port are called, the address is checked after it is looked up, redirects are not followed and a call gives up after five seconds
What does the flywheel take?+
A share of each new coin's creator fees, frozen at launch and shown before you sign, and the launch fee. All of it buys the official coin, and every coin bought is burned. Nothing is kept
How often do rules run?+
The keeper passes over every coin about once a minute. Events that fired since the last pass run then, at most five runs per rule per pass
